DaejeonSat-1, an ultra-small cubesat carried into space aboard the 5th launch of the Nuri rocket, has dramatically succeeded in two-way communication with its ground station.
The Daejeon Metropolitan Government announced that DaejeonSat-1 succeeded in exchanging signals during its sixth communication attempt at 11:20 p.m. last night (October 8), followed by a seventh attempt at 0:46 a.m. today.
Previously, DaejeonSat-1 failed five consecutive communication attempts due to radio interference and ground station noise, raising concerns. However, it has now been confirmed that the satellite's major systems, including its battery and attitude control, are all operating normally.
Jointly developed by five aerospace companies in the Daejeon region applying core technologies, DaejeonSat-1 is scheduled to embark on full-scale missions, such as Earth observation, after completing additional status checks.
