Today (October 9), the first day of a three-day long weekend, traffic congestion is building up on major expressways nationwide as travelers head out for trips.

According to the Korea Expressway Corporation, as of 12:00 PM, the estimated travel times from the Seoul Tollgate to major cities across the country are 6 hours and 50 minutes to Busan, 5 hours and 50 minutes to Daegu, 5 hours and 10 minutes to Gwangju, and 3 hours and 40 minutes to Daejeon.

The Korea Expressway Corporation projected that 5.62 million vehicles will be on the move nationwide today.
