An elementary school student assaulted her homeroom teacher, and to make matters worse, the student's parents filed a police complaint against the teachers, is that right?

According to reports, a 5th-grade student, designated as A, at an elementary school in Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province, hurled profanities at her homeroom teacher last month because her test paper was dirty.

The next day, upon being told to retake the diagnostic assessment, she reportedly grabbed the homeroom teacher by the hair and assaulted her with fists and feet.

The principal and vice principal, who tried to intervene, were also reportedly assaulted.

Immediately following the incident, the school suspended A from attending classes for 20 days. Afterward, the Teacher Rights Protection Committee decided on a school transfer and 10 hours of special education for the student, as well as 5 hours of special education for the parents.

A school transfer is the highest level of disciplinary action that can be imposed on an elementary school student for educational rights violations.

However, the parents of student A filed child abuse complaints against three teachers, including the homeroom teacher and the vice principal, claiming that the homeroom teacher refused a request to replace the test paper and raised her voice.

Police plan to determine how to handle the case based on the investigation results and other factors.
