Is this really okay?

A video recently surfaced online showing foreign men jumping from the railing of Banpo Bridge in Seoul toward the Han River.

In the video, the men climbed onto the railing during the evening hours and jumped into the river one after another.

They appear to have swum back ashore on their own and left the scene without any major accidents.

However, the problem is that when someone jumps off a bridge, it is difficult to immediately distinguish it from an accident or a suicide attempt.

If a report is filed, rescue personnel such as police and firefighters may be dispatched, which can lead to an unnecessary waste of administrative resources.

While some opinions suggested it was mere water play, counterarguments followed that foreigners, too, must observe safety rules and public order appropriate for the location and situation while in South Korea.
