Spanish golf star Jon Rahm is set to leave LIV Golf after the 2026 season.

The Associated Press reported today (October 8), citing Rahm's attorney John Beck, that Rahm decided not to participate next year after reviewing the terms offered by LIV Golf.

This is expected to deal a major blow to LIV Golf, which is currently seeking a new path following the withdrawal of support from Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF).

Rahm, who has won major golf tournaments including the Masters and the U.S. Open and reached world number one, left the PGA Tour to join LIV Golf at the end of 2023.

Although not officially confirmed, his signing bonus at the time was reported to be USD 300 million (approximately KRW 402.1 billion).

As Rahm maintains his membership in the Europe-based DP World Tour, he is also scheduled to compete in the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship and the DP World Tour Championship to be held in November.

Prior to this, Sergio Garcia (Spain) and Patrick Reed (United States) also decided not to remain with LIV Golf.

Attention is now focused on the next destinations for players leaving LIV Golf.

The PGA Tour allowed the return of Brooks Koepka (United States), who terminated his contract with LIV Golf earlier this year.

Koepka is reportedly to have paid a substantial fine to the PGA Tour as a condition of his reinstatement.

While the PGA Tour typically imposes a one-year suspension on players who compete in LIV events, an exception was made in Koepka's case.

Players such as Bryson DeChambeau (United States), who filed an antitrust lawsuit against the PGA Tour when LIV was launched, have not expressed an intention to return.
