Ahead of the new season, managers of the seven women's professional volleyball clubs gathered at a media day event, signaling an intense battle for the top rankings.

The coaches ahead of the new season shared their bold ambitions.

[Lee Young-taek / GS Caltex Head Coach: As far as I know, there has never been a back-to-back champion in women's volleyball. We are going to take on that challenge.]

[Kang Sung-hyung / Hyundai Engineering & Construction Hillstate Head Coach: We will do well this year and climb all the way to the top.]

Kim Se-jin, head coach of the newly founded team SOOP Supers, which held its official founding ceremony last week, issued a witty warning to powerhouse teams, promising a resilient brand of volleyball that refuses to back down.

[Kim Se-jin / SOOP Head Coach: It says here that opponents will realize they aren't going to be an easy matchup and that they're a terrifying team, because if you take SOOP lightly, you're going to get badly hurt.]

National team players who recently competed together at the Asian Games but are now meeting as rivals also previewed a fierce competition.

[Kim Da-in / Hyundai Engineering & Construction Hillstate: We will show you exciting volleyball, so we hope many of you will come out to watch.]

[Kang So-hwi / Korea Expressway Corporation Hi-Pass: We are truly going to pour our everything into this season.]
