Professional baseball club Lotte Giants, which failed to reach the postseason for the ninth consecutive year, has released 16 players.
The Lotte front office announced today (October 7) that it has notified 16 players, including eight pitchers such as Jung Sung-jong and Choi Choong-yeon, and eight position players such as Lee In-han and Eom Jang-yun, of their release.
Jung Sung-jong joined Lotte in 2018 and primarily pitched out of the bullpen.
His career totals stand at 1-3 with 1 hold and a 5.76 ERA across 73 appearances. He did not make a single appearance in the first team this year.
Choi Choong-yeon, who joined Lotte last year through the secondary draft, made only one appearance in the first team this season, allowing two runs in one inning before spending the rest of the year in the minors.
His career totals across 199 games are 5 wins, 19 losses, 9 saves, and 23 holds with a 6.14 ERA.
Outfielder Lee In-han leaves the team with career totals in the first league of a .500 batting average (2 hits in 4 at-bats) and 2 RBIs over 9 games.
