A fire broke out at a factory in Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province, prompting emergency authorities to launch a firefighting operation.
The fire occurred at approximately 6:10 PM today (October 7) at a food manufacturing plant located in Yangji-ri, Onam-eup, Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province.
According to authorities, one factory worker in their 60s sustained burns and received medical treatment.
Fire authorities mobilized about 40 personnel and around 20 pieces of equipment, bringing the major flames under control roughly 50 minutes after receiving the report.
Namyangju City issued an emergency text alert advising residents to "exercise caution regarding safety" as "a large amount of smoke is flowing in."
Once extinguishment of residual fires is complete, fire authorities plan to investigate the exact cause of the fire.
