Actors Lee Jung-eun and Kim Ji-won teased an all-time great female-female chemistry through "Doctor X: Mafia in White".

On the afternoon of October 7, a press conference for the new Friday-Saturday drama "Doctor X: Mafia in White" (written by Pyeon Seong-geun, directed by Lee Jung-rim) was held at the SBS headquarters in Mok-dong, Yangcheon-gu, Seoul. Director Lee Jung-rim and actors Kim Ji-won, Lee Jung-eun, Son Hyun-joo, and Kim Woo-seok attended the event.

"Doctor X: Mafia in White" is a refreshing medical noir drama depicting the exploits of Doctor X Gye Soo-jung (played by Kim Ji-won), dubbed the "crazy Gye of the operating room," who shatters massive absurdities with her genius surgical skills.

Returning two years after "Queen of Tears", Kim Ji-won puts on a doctor's gown for a dramatic transformation into Gye Soo-jung, the "crazy Gye of the operating room." Kim stars as a genius surgeon who takes on the world of the white mafia at the massive Guseo University Hospital with her overwhelming surgical skills alone. Lee Jung-eun plays Jang Hee-sook, the head of a doctor staffing agency. Outwardly fussy and materialistic, but tougher than anyone on the inside, Jang Hee-sook shares a deep bond with Gye Soo-jung as they have carried profound wounds together, sparking a special womance chemistry.

At the event, Lee Jung-eun and Kim Ji-won showed extraordinary affection for each other. Lee Jung-eun expressed high satisfaction with her acting chemistry with Kim Ji-won, saying, "I usually heard so much praise for actor Kim Ji-won from directors and writers around me that I really wanted to work with her."

Kim Ji-won also heightened anticipation for their deep womance, saying, "Sunbaenim is so lovely. Watching that by her side was one of the joys I found on set." She added, "Acting-wise, I was able to satisfy my personal wish. It was a time when I could learn a lot while acting alongside her. I caught two rabbits with one stone: learning and happiness."

When asked if they were aiming for the Best Couple Award at the year-end Drama Awards, Kim Ji-won revealed her ambition with a bright smile, saying, "I definitely want to win it." Lee Jung-eun agreed, saying, "The chemistry with Ji-won was truly great," while bringing laughter to the venue by wittily adding, "I wonder if Son Hyun-joo, who plays the hospital director in opposition to me in the drama, might secretly want a couple award with me as well."

"Doctor X: Mafia in White" premieres this Friday, October 9, at 9:50 p.m.
