HL Anyang secured its third victory of the Asia League Ice Hockey regular season with an offensive masterclass.

Led by head coach Jim Paek, HL Anyang decisively defeated reigning champion Red Eagles Hokkaido (Japan) 6-1 in the sixth game of the 2026–2027 Asia League Ice Hockey regular season held at the Anyang Ice Rink in Gyeonggi Province on the 6th.

With the win, HL Anyang improved its season record to 3 wins and 3 losses (9 points), successfully turning the momentum around.

The match was effectively decided early in the first period.

HL Anyang seized control early by scoring three goals in the first period alone.

Just 2 minutes and 23 seconds into the game, during a power play, Kim Sang-yeop scored the opening goal off a pass from Kim Sung-jae, and Shin Dong-hyun added another goal at 4 minutes and 1 second.

Shortly after, at 7 minutes and 18 seconds, Ahn Jin-hui connected on a pass from Kim Sang-wook with a powerful one-timer to notch the third goal.

Stunned by the sudden flurry of goals, the Red Eagles attempted to stem the tide by substituting starting goaltender Yuta Narisawa with Takuto Onoda, but they proved no match for HL Anyang's formidable firepower.

At 3 minutes and 39 seconds of the second period, Stetson Pratt widened the gap by scoring his debut goal with a backhand shot.

Though they allowed a goal to Kohei Mitamura at 8 minutes and 39 seconds, Ahn Jin-hui sealed the victory by finding the back of the net once again with a one-timer during a power play 1 minute and 39 seconds into the third period.

With 2 minutes and 5 seconds remaining in the game, Joe Morrow capped off the landslide victory by scoring his first-ever Asia League goal with a powerful slapshot.

Kim Sang-yeop, who scored his fifth goal of the season with his third consecutive game finding the net, took the lead in the league scoring race.

Meanwhile, veteran Kim Sang-wook, who delivered three assists on the day, recorded 2 goals and 7 assists this season, bringing him one step closer to the milestone of 600 career points with 592 points.

New faces including Shin Dong-hyun, Pratt, and Morrow also savored their debut goals, adding to the joy of the victory.

Having secured a resounding victory at home, HL Anyang will travel to Japan on the 17th to play an away game against Stars Kobe.
