An SUV plunged into Naegwanji Reservoir in Daeheung-dong, Suseong-gu, Daegu, at 4:17 a.m. today (October 7).

Authorities, including fire and police personnel, began an underwater search at 7:00 a.m. and discovered the vehicle and one occupant at 8:22 a.m.

According to police, the discovered occupant is estimated to be a woman in her 50s and was already dead.

A police official said, "CCTV footage installed nearby shows one occupant, but we are continuing the search to determine if there were any additional passengers."

Police plan to investigate the exact cause of the accident once the vehicle is hoisted out.

In May, an SUV also plunged into the same reservoir, resulting in one fatality.
