S&P 500 and Nasdaq Hit Record Highs Again Ahead of Corporate Earnings Reports

On October 6 local time, the three major U.S. stock indices closed higher across the board.

Amid growing expectations for corporate earnings ahead of the third-quarter earnings season, coupled with a drop in U.S. Treasury yields, the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite both broke record highs.

On this day, the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed up 253.38 points, or 0.49%, at 51,521.28.

The S&P 500 rose 44.98 points, or 0.58%, to close at 7,818.93, while the Nasdaq Composite gained 122.48 points, or 0.45%, to finish at 27,599.79.
