At around 7:10 PM today (Oct. 5), an elementary school student, identified as Boy A, was hit by a taxi driven by a man in his 50s in an alley in Bitgaram-dong, Naju, South Jeolla Province.

Due to the accident, Boy A sustained severe injuries, including abrasions all over his body, and was transported to a nearby hospital.

There was no traffic light at the crosswalk where the accident occurred, and it was understood that Boy A was crossing the street while riding his kickboard at the time.

Police reported that the driver was neither under the influence of alcohol nor driving without a license, and they are currently investigating the exact circumstances of the accident.
