The number of visitors has surpassed 1 million just 18 days after a shark, nicknamed "Bukang-i," was spotted in the waterway at the waterfront park in Busan's Bukhang district.
According to the Busan Facilities Corporation, an estimated 89,000 people visited the Bukhang waterfront park today (the 5th) as of 6:00 p.m.
The cumulative number of visitors from September 19, when visitor tracking began, until today reached 1,015,800.
Bukang-i has been staying in the scenic waterway of the Bukhang waterfront park for 18 days since it was first discovered on September 18.
Previously, the Busan city government and other authorities carried out operations twice to guide the shark out to the open sea, but Bukang-i breached a blocking net and returned to the waterway on the 3rd.
