The film "The Assassin(s)" has drawn 2 million moviegoers despite controversies surrounding historical distortion.

It surpassed 2 million viewers 11 days after its release last Saturday.

It currently ranks second at the box office, following the animated film "Chiikawa The Movie: Secret of the Mermaid Island."

Amid demands from political circles and conservative groups for a suspension of screenings and a public apology due to the historical distortion controversy, events related to the film have been canceled one after another.

Actors Yoo Hai-jin and Lee Minho, who appeared in the film, have ultimately decided not to attend the opening ceremony of the Busan International Film Festival scheduled for tomorrow (October 6). Furthermore, the outdoor stage greeting scheduled to take place during the festival and the film festival talk program that Lee Minho was set to participate in have also been canceled.
