The Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games concluded their 16-day run with the closing ceremony yesterday (October 4) evening.
Sport climbing gold medalist Seo Chae-hyun served as the flag bearer for the South Korean delegation at the closing ceremony, while South Korean athletes entered the venue in a free and relaxed atmosphere, waving the Taegeukgi.
Asian athletes, who delivered deep emotions over the past 16 days, mingled and took photos together to create special memories.
Following the closing declaration, the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) flag was handed over to the next host city, Doha, Qatar. Equestrian rider Al Kuwari, who appeared at the venue on horseback, received the OCA flag and rode vigorously toward Doha.
The flame that lit up the Mizuho Park Stadium was then extinguished, bringing Asia's premier festival to a close.
The Nagoya flame is scheduled to light up the sky once again at the opening ceremony of the Asian Para Games on October 18.
