Professional baseball team KIA secured a thrilling comeback victory against LG to climb to third place. For LG, Austin hit the club's first-ever 40th home run of the season, but the team fell to fourth place amid a seven-game losing streak.

LG started off strong.

In the bottom of the first inning, Austin scooped up a low forkball to launch a two-run homer over the left-field wall.

Reactivating his home run bat after three weeks, Austin hit the first 40-homer season in club history, narrowing the gap to just one home run behind joint home run leaders Kim Doyoung of KIA and Hilliard of KT.

However, whenever LG took the lead, KIA relentlessly caught up.

In the top of the second inning, Park Min hit a two-run timely hit to immediately level the score.

LG reclaimed the lead in the bottom of the fourth when Lee Jae-won hit a massive home run traveling 133 meters straight into the very top rows of the stands, but KIA tied the game once again in the top of the eighth with an RBI single by Na Sung-bum.

In the bottom of the eighth, LG pulled ahead 5 to 3 thanks to a two-run homer by Park Dong-won, but KIA's late-game resilience proved stronger.

During their final attack in the ninth inning, Kim Tae-gun and Lee Ho-yeon delivered consecutive RBI singles to tie the game at 5 to 5. In the ensuing one-out bases-loaded opportunity, Castro hit a sacrifice fly to left field to successfully turn the game around to 6 to 5.

Extending their winning streak to two games, KIA edged ahead of LG in winning percentage with no games behind to reclaim third place. Meanwhile, LG, trapped in a seven-game losing streak, found themselves chased within three games by the fifth-place Doosan.

Doosan claimed a massive 12 to 0 victory against Samsung, unleashing a total of 20 hits including four home runs.
