An active-duty police officer who created and shared AI-generated sexual exploitation materials in a Telegram chat room has been caught and arrested.

He was tracked down by investigators who infiltrated the chat room under cover with hidden identities, and it turned out that the distributor was Police Officer A assigned to the Traffic Division of the Seoul Dongdaemun Police Station.

Officer A is known to have directly produced and distributed false videos depicting acquaintances in the nude, as well as illegally filmed footage of women's bodies, from 2022 until recently.

Officer A was appointed to the police force in 2023 and continued the crimes even after becoming a police officer.

Officer A is currently suspended from duty.
