The entire park was deeply filled with the sweet and savory aroma of milk and cheese.
A festival venue opened where people could directly experience and feel fresh domestic milk.
Children carefully pour white ingredients into soap molds.
While some make pure white milk soap using milk, others at a nearby booth are busy crafting their own pizzas topped generously with savory cheese.
[Kang Geon-hoo / Hogye-dong, Anyang-si: (What did you make with the cheese?) Toast pizza and also quesadilla. (Was it fun?) Yes.]
[Lee Sun-young / Dang-dong, Gunpo-si: I only really knew about milk and cheese, but making various things seems to help my child better understand where milk comes from.]
From smooth ice cream made with fresh raw milk to various milk lattes enjoyed according to personal taste.
A rich variety of experiential programs were also prepared to learn at a glance the entire process of how milk is milked at dairy farms and reaches consumers' tables.
[(What is milk?) Fresh! (What is milk? ) Fresh!]
This is the 2026 Milk & Cheese Festival, organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the Korea Dairy Committee to let people taste and experience milk and various dairy products firsthand and promote domestic milk to consumers.
This year's festival, themed "Milk is a fresh food," particularly focused on the unrivaled freshness and safety of domestic milk, which sets it apart from imported dairy products.
Unlike imported distribution products, domestic milk is distributed within just three days of production as the freshest food item, with the aim of boosting public trust.
[Lee Seung-ho / Chairman, Korea Dairy Committee: Through a cold chain system, it is distributed in its fresh state without external exposure. The period from production to distribution is as short as 2 to 3 days, so you can enjoy it much fresher than imported milk.]
Last year, per capita white milk consumption stood at 22.9 kg.
Quality is managed so thoroughly that more than 99% of raw milk currently produced domestically receives the highest Grade 1 rating.
This event, where visitors can experience the fresh taste and value of domestic milk with all five senses, will run through tomorrow at Pyeongchon Central Park in Anyang, Gyeonggi Province.
