A man in his 70s has been involved in an accident in Wanju, Jeollabuk-do, where he crashed his van into a median barrier while driving under the influence.

At around 9:30 p.m. yesterday (October 2), a van driven by a man in his 70s, identified as A, crashed into a median barrier at an intersection in Haewol-ri, Soyang-myeon, Wanju.

Fortunately, there were no secondary accidents.

Due to the impact of the accident, A became trapped between the driver and passenger seats before being rescued and transported to a hospital.

A sustained bruises and other injuries, but was reported to be in non-life-threatening condition.

Police found that A's blood alcohol concentration measured at the time was at a level warranting the revocation of his driver's license.

Police have booked A on charges of drunk driving and are investigating the incident.
