After attending a ceremony marking Senior Citizens' Day, President Lee Jae-myung and his wife, Kim Hye-kyung, visited Yeongcheon Market, a traditional market located in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, to listen to the voices of merchants and local residents.

The presidential couple toured the market, greeting vendors and personally purchasing items such as plums, chicken, and dumplings, Blue House Chief Spokesperson Kang Yu-jung said in a written briefing.

They then moved to a restaurant specializing in doganitang (ox knee soup) inside the market to have lunch with aides, sharing the food purchased from the market with other restaurant patrons and engaging in casual conversations.

Chief Spokesperson Kang noted that during the visit, they also warmly responded to citizens' requests for handshakes and photos.
