The tennis duo of Nam Ji-sung (Dangjin City Hall) and Park 의-seong (Daegu City Hall) has won the silver medal in the men's doubles event at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.
In the men's doubles final held on October 2 at the Higashiyama Park Tennis Center in Nagoya, Japan, Nam and Park lost 0-2 (3-6, 6-7〈4-7〉) to the Japanese pair of Yusuke Kusuhara and Shunsuke Nakagawa in 1 hour and 31 minutes.
After dropping the first set, Nam and Park pushed the second set to a tiebreak but lost it 4-7.
With this result, South Korean tennis concluded the tournament with one silver medal.
Following the bronze medal won by Kwon Soon-woo and Hong Seong-chan at the 2022 Hangzhou Games, South Korea has now secured a medal in the men's doubles for two consecutive editions.
The last time South Korean tennis won a gold medal at the Asian Games was in the 2014 Incheon Games, when Lim Yong-kyu and Chung Hyeon claimed the title in the men's doubles.
South Korea, which had set a goal of winning up to four gold medals at this tournament, faced setbacks as Kwon Soon-woo retired in the third round of the men's singles due to a left knee injury, while all other players were also eliminated.
