The New Liberty Solidarity, a conservative civic group, is planning to hold a rally in front of the home of actor Yoo Hai-jin, who starred in the film The Assassin(s) that has been embroiled in controversy over historical distortion.

The group has filed a report with the police to hold daily rallies starting tomorrow, October 3, through the end of the month in front of the detached house in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul, known to be Yoo's residence.

The reported number of participants is 20, and the rallies are scheduled to begin at 4:30 PM every day.

The group also plans to deploy two broadcasting vehicles and portable sound equipment.

Kim Sang-jin, head of the New Liberty Solidarity, stated, "The purpose is to ask the actor to maintain political balance and appear in right-leaning films as well."

He added, "There are many subjects about which we could also raise suspicions, so we want him to appear in films dealing with those topics as well."

The film The Assassin(s) has sparked controversy over historical distortion for hinting at possibilities different from the investigative findings at the time, which concluded that the late First Lady Yuk Young-su was killed by a bullet fired by Zainichi Korean Mun Se-gwang.

In response, the production team stated, "This film was not produced to newly establish a specific historical conclusion or to deny and distort existing facts."
