The weather has turned noticeably chilly today, the first day of October.

Tomorrow, South Korea will be under the influence of a high-pressure system expanding from northern China, bringing cold air down via northwesterly winds.

As a result, tomorrow morning is expected to be even colder than today.

Tomorrow morning's low in Seoul will drop to 12°C, which is 2°C lower than today, and the daytime high will stall at 21°C.

Temperatures are expected to rise slightly during the upcoming National Foundation Day long weekend, posing no major disruptions for outdoor outings.

However, starting in the central-northern regions on Sunday night, rain will spread to the central regions, the Honam region, and Jeju by Monday morning.

Because the rain clouds will move quickly, the duration will be short, but the rain could come down heavily accompanied by gusty winds, thunder, and lightning.

Tomorrow, skies nationwide will be generally clear, though strong winds will blow mainly around coastal areas.

Frost is expected to form or water may freeze in some inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon Province, so precautions should be taken to prevent damage to crops during the harvest season.

Looking at the temperatures, morning lows will drop to 5°C in Taebaek and 10°C in Daegu, plunging by as much as 10°C in just a day.

Daytime highs will reach 21°C in Seoul and 23°C in Daegu, resulting in a large temperature gap between day and night.

For the time being, temperatures will remain similar to or slightly lower than average, and with wide diurnal temperature ranges, good care for respiratory health is advised during this seasonal transition.
