Today (1), Kim Hye-mi was defeated by Moon Song-hui of North Korea in the Round of 16 of the women's 70kg judo event at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.

At 31 years old, Kim Hye-mi, the eldest member of the women's national judo team, was competing in her very first Asian Games. However, she accumulated three shido penalties and was eliminated in her opening individual match just 1 minute and 48 seconds into the bout.

Kim, who said she prepared for this competition with the mindset that it could be her last, shed tears, saying, "I prepared so hard without even resting, but I lost so quickly and in vain."
