A fire broke out at a packaging manufacturing plant in Hajeori, Paltan-myeon, Manse-gu, Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province, at around 5:20 p.m. today (Oct. 1).

The fire left a male employee in his 40s, identified as A, with second-degree burns on his face and both arms.

Three other employees at the plant evacuated on their own, preventing any further casualties.

Fire authorities mobilized 15 pieces of equipment and 45 personnel, bringing the major flames under control in about an hour at around 6:10 p.m.

Police and fire authorities plan to investigate the exact cause of the fire once the blaze is completely extinguished.
