Promising golfer Yang Yun-seo (Incheon Girls' Affiliated Korea National Open High School) has reached the halfway point of the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games tied for 3rd place.

Playing at the East Course of the Kasugai Country Club in Aichi Prefecture, Japan, Yang shot a 5-under par 65 in the second round of the women's golf competition, carding seven birdies and two bogeys.

She marked a total of 7-under par 133, following Shannon Tan (13-under par 127, Singapore) and Pranavi Sharath Urs (11-under par 129, India).

With a six-stroke gap behind the leader, she is well within striking distance for a comeback victory in the remaining two rounds.

Yang picked up birdies on the 3rd hole (par 4) and 6th hole (par 4), stumbled with a bogey on the 7th hole (par 3), but immediately bounced back with consecutive birdies on the 8th hole (par 5) and 9th hole (par 4).

She continued to shave off strokes with a strong surge on the back nine.

Although she recorded a bogey on the 11th hole (par 4), she reeled off three straight birdies starting from the 13th hole (par 5) to break into the top tier.

Kim Gyu-bin (Haksan Girls' High School), who was tied for 7th alongside Yang after the first round, struggled.

She shot a 3-over par 73 with three birdies, four bogeys, and a double bogey, slipping to a total of 1-over par 141 and tied for 16th place.

Park Seo-jin also shot a 3-over par 73 with three birdies, four bogeys, and a double bogey, dropping to tied for 21st place at 4-over par 144.

In the team competition—where rankings are determined by combining the scores of the two best-performing players from each round—the South Korean national team fell from a tie for 2nd to a tie for 4th place (6-under par 274).

China leads the team standings at 12-under par 264, followed by Singapore at 11-under par 269, and India at 7-under par 273.

Hong Kong and Taiwan are tied with South Korea for 4th place.

World No. 6 Yin Ruoning (China), who has six career wins on the LPGA Tour, finished at 7-under par 133 to tie for 3rd place with Yang, while Rianne Malixi (Philippines) placed 5th at 4-under par 136.

Former World No. 1 Tseng Ya-ni (Taiwan) finished tied for 13th at even-par 140.

The third round is scheduled to tee off at 8:17 AM on October 2.
