The agency of the group KEYVITUP has issued an apology after police were dispatched due to noise complaints following a music video shoot at a market near a residential area in the middle of the night.
According to a netizen, at around 3:20 AM on September 30, a long-lasting noise was generated due to a filming session at Jemulpo Market in Sungui-dong, Michuhol-gu, Incheon. The shoot only wrapped up after police officers were dispatched to the scene following a citizen's report to 112.
The netizen, who shared this information along with photos, explained, "I checked the time then, and it was past 3 AM. It was so absurd and ridiculous. Having lived in this neighborhood for 10 years, I've seen countless shoots, but this is the first time anyone has filmed past 3 AM using a loudspeaker." They added, "When the filming ended, they should have packed up quietly, but they shouted loudly into the loudspeaker, 'Great job everyone,' and cheered among themselves."
As this fact spread via social media, iNKODE posted an official apology on its website on October 1.
iNKODE stated, "We would like to express our apologies to the residents who must have experienced inconvenience and damage due to the noise caused by the filming at a time when they should have been spending a peaceful night." The agency added, "Although our company also considered and tried in various ways to minimize inconvenience to residents during the filming process, we failed to more carefully look into the inconvenience that could be caused to the surrounding environment and residents' daily lives as the shooting continued late into the night."
iNKODE further stated, "We are taking this matter seriously and will visit the residents who experienced inconvenience, faithfully carrying out follow-up measures with a responsible attitude." They also added, "We will conduct more thorough preliminary checks on the overall filming process with the production company, and carefully monitor filming times and on-site noise management to manage things prudently so that similar situations do not recur."
KEYVITUP is a 5-member boy group that debuted in April under iNKODE, an agency founded by singer Kim Jae-joong.
