It has belatedly come to light that actor Koo Kyo-hwan (44) and film director Lee Ok-seop (39) legally tied the knot four years ago.

According to Koo Kyo-hwan's agency Namoo Actors on October 1, the two registered their marriage in 2022 to become legally wedded. They did not hold a separate wedding ceremony, and it has been reported that they have no plans to hold a ceremony in the future.

The two, who are alumni of the Seoul Institute of the Arts, developed romantic feelings while working on the 2013 short film "A Dangerous Woman". After publicly confirming their relationship in 2020, they officially became husband and wife following about nine years of deep trust and romance.

The agency stated, "The two continue to stay by each other's side without change, as each other's closest colleague and family."

Regarded as one of the film industry's top creative duos, Koo Kyo-hwan and director Lee Ok-seop have collaborated on numerous projects, including the films "Maggie," "Leave a Message After Beep," and "ROMEO," and have continued their creative ventures leading the joint collective 2X9HD. Recently, they have continued working together on projects such as "Your Country," starring Jang Doyoun, and Lee Na-young's screen return project "Love Counselor," continuing their inspiring journey that embraces both love and work.
