Actor Lee Jung-eun is taking on her first medical noir project since her debut through "Doctor X: Mafia in White".

Scheduled to premiere on Friday, October 9 at 9:50 PM, SBS's new Friday-Saturday drama "Doctor X: Mafia in White" (written by Pyeon Seong-geun, directed by Lee Jung-rim) is a cathartic medical noir depicting the journey of Gye Su-jeong—also known as Doctor X and the "Crazy Gye of the Operating Room"—who tears down massive corruption with surgical genius that tolerates neither failure nor compromise.

Lee Jung-eun has built a boundary-pushing career across the big screen and television through acclaimed titles such as "Parasite", "When the Camellia Blooms", "Our Blues", and "The Journey to Gyeongju". From warm and relatable personas to chilling and commanding presences, she has fully immersed herself in the personality and backstory of every character, delivering powerful performances that fluidly balance wit and gravity through her seasoned acting chops. In "Doctor X: Mafia in White", Lee Jung-eun plays Jang Hee-sook, the head of a doctor staffing agency driven by money. While she appears talkative and materialistic on the surface, she is a shrewd strategist who steers the hospital's internal power dynamics using her sharp intuition and savvy social tact. Concealing an incisive edge beneath her sly charm, she is expected to inject both comic relief and suspense into the story.

Her upcoming "womance" chemistry with Kim Ji-won, who stars as Gye Su-jeong, is drawing immense interest. While the two are business partners bound by contract, they share a distinctive bond, looking after one another much like an aunt and niece.
