The South Korean national diving team has failed to add to its medal count at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.

Kim Yeong-taek (Jeju Provincial Government) finished in fourth place, narrowly missing out on a medal, with a total score of 373.30 points across six dives in the men's 3m springboard final held on the 29th at the Tokyo Aquatics Centre in Japan.

The gap between him and the bronze medalist, Sho Sakai of Japan (376.40 points), was a mere 3.10 points.

Shin Jeong-hwi (KSPO), who competed alongside him, remained in seventh place with 357.25 points.

China, the powerhouse of diving, swept the gold and silver medals in this event.

Wang Zongyuan, who won the 1m springboard the previous day, claimed his second gold medal of the competition with an overwhelming score of 494.40 points, while Zheng Jiuyuan took the silver with 419.75 points.

Earlier in the women's 10m platform final, South Korean athletes also felt the formidable height of the global barrier.

Kim Nahyun (Gangwon State Government) finished seventh with a five-dive total of 262.80 points, and Moon Na-yun (Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Government) placed eighth with 259.90 points, falling short of entering the medal zone.

In the women's 10m platform event, the dominance of China and North Korea stood out.

China's Chen Yuxi comfortably won the gold medal with 432.65 points, and Lu Wei (China) took the silver with 385.40 points.

North Korea's Jo Jin-mi won the bronze medal with 363.80 points, and Kim Mi-hwa (North Korea) placed fourth with 300.05 points.
