A plenary meeting of the National Assembly's National Defense Committee was convened on the afternoon of Tuesday, September 29.

Defense Minister Kang Shin-chul and other officials attended to answer urgent inquiries regarding a landmine explosion that occurred on September 21.

Representative Kim Byung-joo of the Democratic Party singled out independent lawmaker Han Dong-hoon, pressing officials on whether the military would take legal action, saying, "Representative Han leaked the schedule of an on-site investigation and demeaned military personnel as 'ttongbyeol' (incompetent brass)."

In response, Minister Kang said, "It is not appropriate," adding, "We will review the matter."
