Ryan Fox of New Zealand, who won this year's major golf tournament, The Open Championship (British Open), will compete in the Korean Tour Genesis Championship, the tournament organizing committee announced today (September 29).

In July, Fox edged out Cameron Young of the United States by one stroke at The Open held at Royal Birkdale Golf Club in the United Kingdom to capture his first-ever major title.

Fox is also familiar to domestic fans, having finished as the runner-up after playing in the championship group on the final day of the GS Caltex Maekyung Open in 2015.

Co-sanctioned by the DP World Tour and the KPGA Tour, the Genesis Championship will take place for four days starting October 22 at Woo Jeong Hills Country Club in Cheonan, South Chungcheong Province.
