Regarding the recent landmine explosion in the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) that severely injured three South Korean service members, President Lee Jae-myung stated that the truth will be transparently uncovered through a prompt and thorough investigation based on cooperation with the UN Command, and that necessary measures will be taken accordingly.

Presiding over the 42nd Cabinet meeting at the Blue House today (September 29), President Lee remarked, "Three soldiers suffered serious injuries in a landmine explosion near the Military Demarcation Line last week," adding, "I extend my deepest words of comfort to the wounded soldiers and their families and wish them a swift recovery."

He emphasized, "Based on close cooperation with the UN Command, we must transparently uncover the truth of the incident through a swift and thorough investigation."

He then pledged, "We will take necessary measures according to the truth (uncovered by the investigation)."

President Lee also pointed out to conservative opposition parties that have raised suspicions of delays and a cover-up in the investigation, saying, "There can be no divide between the ruling and opposition parties when it comes to national security," adding, "I hope that no one will endanger national security by stoking groundless conspiracy theories, particularly regarding this matter."
