At around 8:35 PM yesterday (September 28), a fire broke out at a waste processing plant in Imgo-myeon, Yeongcheon, North Gyeongsang Province.

The fire authorities issued a Level 1 response at one point in anticipation of the fire spreading, and brought the major flames under control at around 11:25 PM.

The fire was completely extinguished at around 2:50 AM today.

There were no casualties reported from the incident.

Fire authorities believe the fire started from waste batteries and are currently investigating the exact cause of the fire and the scale of the property damage.
