Kurash, a martial art similar to judo, is an official event at the Asian Games. South Korea's Mo Su-min has won a valuable silver medal after competing against heavyweights in a weight class higher than her own.

In Kurash, which resembles judo but only allows standing throwing attacks, Mo competed in the 78kg division—one weight class higher than her usual women's 70kg—after her original weight class was excluded from the competition.

After an unexpectedly strong winning streak, she reached the final to face an athlete from Uzbekistan, the birthplace of Kurash. She put up a tough fight against an opponent 10kg heavier and ultimately took home the silver medal after a narrow defeat.

[Mo Su-min / National Kurash Team Member: I couldn't gain weight. Even my usual 70kg is a weight class I enter without losing weight. As soon as I grabbed (the opponent), I definitely thought, "Ah, she's strong," and "This is going to be tough."]br />
Mo, whose main sport is originally judo, expressed her ambition to pursue both judo and Kurash successfully.

[Mo Su-min / National Kurash Team Member: I felt excitement rather than nervousness, so I felt great. I want to succeed in judo and I want to succeed in Kurash. I want to do both.]

Mo became the first female South Korean athlete to win a medal in Kurash at the Asian Games.

The national shooting team also added a silver medal in the women's 25m pistol team event, featuring Bong Seo-lin, Yang Ji-in, and Oh Ye-jin.

Despite an unfortunate setback where Yang Ji-in's 21st shot was delayed and scored zero points, the eldest teammate and "mom shooter" Bong Seo-lin delivered a stellar performance by scoring a rapid-fire total of 292 points, presenting a proud silver medal to her 3-year-old daughter.

The national men's handball team lost to powerhouse Qatar in the semifinals and will face Japan tomorrow (September 29) for the bronze medal.
