An defeated Chen 2-0 in the semifinals of the women's singles at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, held today (September 28) at the Ichinomiya City Gymnasium in Aichi Prefecture, Japan, successfully securing her spot in the finals.

Although Chen was once the player who troubled An the most regardless of world rankings, An dismantled Chen much more easily than expected.

Starting from the beginning of the first set, An scored nine consecutive points. She maintained a comfortable lead throughout the second set and closed out the match without letting her guard down until the very end.

The Chinese media outlet Sohu reported, "Chen Yufei lost to An Se-young 0-2," adding, "The great demon king An Se-young is now challenging for her 10th title of the season."
