Although Japan formed its national team primarily around industrial league (corporate) baseball players, they went head-to-head twice against a South Korea squad anchored by professional players, recording one win and one loss and demonstrating formidable competitiveness.

During the post-match press conference, the players expressed pride in the tournament and their team, stating, "We sufficiently showed the charm of industrial league baseball" and "We were the best 24 players."
