Chinese nationals who confined and robbed two Chinese women in Jeju have been apprehended by the police.

The Seogwipo Police Station has arrested three Chinese nationals, including two men in their 20s and one man in their 30s, on charges of special robbery and joint confinement.

Additionally, the police are pursuing two other Chinese nationals who have already departed for China.

They are accused of confining two Chinese women in their 20s at a detached resort in Seogwipo at around 2:30 PM on September 21.

They also face charges of taking the victims mobile phones and tablet PCs, and forcing them to transfer 100,000 yuan, approximately 20 million won, to an account.

On September 22, the day after the crime, one of the victimized women escaped from the scene and sought help nearby, prompting a report to the police.

Police dispatched upon receiving the report caught two of the five suspects who were still at the lodging.

Another suspect trying to leave through Jeju International Airport was also apprehended.

The remaining two accomplices were found to have departed for China before the police report was filed.

The police are tracking the two accomplices who fled to China through Interpol and other channels.

Furthermore, the police are investigating the exact circumstances of the crime, including how the suspects and victims came to meet in Jeju.
