The first autumn foliage of the year has been observed on Mt. Seoraksan in Gangwon Province.

The Gangwon Regional Meteorological Administration announced that the first autumn foliage began appearing on Mt. Seoraksan on the 28th.

"First foliage" is defined as when 20 percent of the mountain, starting from the peak, is colored with autumn leaves.

This year's first foliage on Mt. Seoraksan was observed four days earlier than last year and at the same time as the average year.

In the case of peak foliage, when 80 percent of the mountain from the peak is colored, it was observed on October 24 last year and October 17 in an average year.
