Major League Soccer (MLS) club Los Angeles FC (LAFC), where Son Heung-min plays, has dismissed manager Marc Dos Santos.

In a statement on September 28 (Korean time), the club announced its parting ways with manager Dos Santos, adding that it has begun searching for a new head coach and will soon finalize and announce plans for an interim managerial system.

Dos Santos was appointed as LAFC head coach in December of last year, succeeding Steve Cherundolo.

Having worked as a coach at LAFC for four seasons starting in 2022, he took the helm as the club's third-ever manager.

LAFC struggled under the leadership of Dos Santos.

The team sits in sixth place in the Western Conference with 11 wins, 8 draws, and 9 losses, totaling 41 points.

They suffered a 0-1 defeat to FC Dallas in last weekend's match, which was played while key players including national team members were away.

LAFC General Manager John Thorrington stated, "Marc has poured a lot into this club over the years, and we thank him for his dedication, care, and contributions," adding, "We wish Marc and his family the best in the future."
