We received a report that bedbugs were found at home after a trip to Busan. When someone went to check it out in person, was the situation much more serious than expected?

An informant claimed that they found bedbugs at home a few days after visiting a jjimjilbang (Korean traditional bathhouse) in Busan late last month.

A biology YouTuber received the tip and visited the jjimjilbang in person to check.

Even in the early evening while it was still bright, bedbugs were easily spotted, and when the mattresses were lifted, bedbugs were found immediately.

Eggs and adults were discovered all at once in the cracks of the walls, and some customers reportedly had bedbug bite marks on their bodies.

The YouTuber informed the jjimjilbang management that they should suspend operations and conduct thorough disinfection, but the business reportedly responded along the lines of "We already disinfected last week" and "We will speak to a professional pest control company again."

Eventually, a complaint was filed with the competent local authorities, and the responsible official reportedly grasped the severity of the situation and took action.
