A man in his 50s has died after falling into the water while taking pictures at Cheonjiyeon Waterfall in Jeju.

According to the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Fire and Safety Headquarters, a tourist in his 50s fell about 2 meters into the water while taking photos at Cheonjiyeon Waterfall in Seogwipo, Jeju, at around 8:30 p.m. yesterday (September 26).

Fire authorities rushed to the scene following a report and rescued the man from the water in about 10 minutes.

The man was transported to a nearby hospital in a state of cardiac arrest while receiving cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), but ultimately passed away.
