President Lee Jae-myung, on a state visit to Mexico, visited the "K-Expo" currently underway in Mexico City on September 25 local time alongside First Lady Kim Hye-kyung, touring product exhibitions of Korean companies operating in the country and listening to their corporate challenges.
The presidential couple toured various booths set up by Korean companies.
At the Amorepacific booth, President Lee directly tested his skin's moisture and pore conditions using an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered skin diagnostic device.
During the tour, when Amorepacific CEO Kim Seung-hwan stated, "Mexico's recent tariff hike on countries without a free trade agreement (FTA) is a burden," President Lee showed keen interest, asking in response, "By how much have the tariffs risen?"
President Lee also examined the Seltos Hybrid vehicle at the Kia exhibition area, looked at transparent OLED (organic light-emitting diode) products at the LG Electronics booth, and stopped by the Samsung Electronics booth.
At the Binggrae booth, they were briefed on banana-flavored milk and Melona ice cream, and at the Nongshim booth, the presidential couple sampled the increasingly popular instant-cooked "Hangang Ramyeon."
At the LG Household & Health Care booth, Yoo Ji-seok, head of marketing, while introducing hair loss prevention products, joked to President Lee and Mrs. Kim, "You two do not appear to have any problems yet," to which the presidential couple responded with laughter.
Mrs. Kim also showed interest at the exhibition booth of "Cake," an affiliate of Naver, where she reviewed a program that teaches Korean through song lyrics and asked, "How much does it cost?"
