The national football teams have also delivered victorious news. The men's team routed Vietnam by a four-goal margin, powered by ace Lee Young-jun's multiple goals, while the women's team also scored six goals against Uzbekistan, with both squads advancing side by side to the semifinals.

Manager Lee Min-sung's squad went on a "revenge mission" against Vietnam, facing them eight months after a "shocking defeat" in a penalty shootout at the AFC U-23 Asian Cup last January.

The Europe-based players, who did not play back then, shined brightly.

Lee Young-jun, who joined late after playing in Switzerland and made his first start of this tournament, claimed the opening goal in the 15th minute of the first half with a header utilizing his 193 cm tall frame.

Vietnam's counterattack was no small threat.

In the 35th minute of the first half, a surprise mid-range shot hit our goalpost, and a Vietnamese player near the goalmouth finished it off, but fortunately, offside was called, allowing the team to breathe a sigh of relief.

Maintaining a precarious lead, the national team poured on the pressure late in the second half.

In the 32nd minute of the second half, Lee Young-jun headed down a long corner kick, and amid a goalmouth scramble, Europe-based defender Kim Ji-soo finally found the back of the net with his right foot.

Four minutes later, Lee Young-jun—who was involved in the previous two goals—used his individual skill to pierce the Vietnamese goal with his left foot, scoring a brace.

With Kim Myung-jun adding another goal to taste the net for three consecutive matches, the national team cleared the quarterfinal hurdle with a 4-0 shutout victory and will clash with the winner of the China-Thailand match on September 30 for a spot in the final.

At the same time, the women's national team engaged in a high-scoring slugfest with Uzbekistan.

Yoon Soo-jung and Choi Yu-ri each scored two goals in the first half alone to lead the team to a 6-3 victory.

The women's national team is now aiming for their first-ever advancement to the final against powerhouse Japan.
