Major U.S. broadcasters have resumed joint pool coverage, ending a boycott launched in protest of President Donald Trump administration's restrictions on media outlets including CNN entering the White House.

According to Reuters and other outlets on the 25th (local time), CNN conducted pool coverage of President Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to the National Archives that day.

Earlier, CNN reporter Kaitlan Collins said on air that CNN would handle the National Archives schedule coverage while CBS would cover the White House on-site pool.

This measure came amid an ongoing legal battle following the Trump administration's restrictions on CNN, MSNBC (MSNow), and Politico from accessing the White House.

President Trump ordered the ban on access to the White House for these three outlets on the 18th, citing false or negative reporting.

However, on the 24th, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia ruled that the White House's action violated the First Amendment and ordered the restoration of their White House press credentials.

Still, the White House TV pool had maintained a stance of refusing coverage in solidarity with CNN until the White House officially restored CNN's access privileges, leading to the cancellation of joint coverage for the U.S.-China summit the previous day.

Major broadcasters including CNN, ABC, CBS, Fox News, and NBC have traditionally shared presidential coverage costs and taken turns conducting joint coverage to provide footage to other media outlets.
