"AI layoffs" just an excuse? "The real reason is different" revealed in South Korean and U.S. Blind data regarding the inner thoughts of major corporations


"More than 40% of respondents answered that they would be willing to give up their college degrees if they could secure a production line job at SK Hynix. Among respondents from Seoul National University and Korea University, that figure was 100%."
This was the result of a survey conducted by Blind targeting college students seeking career counseling. Job seekers are looking at the job market with entirely different eyes than before.

"Since the emergence of AI, the companies preferred by job seekers have completely changed."
The job search rate for so-called "high-AI-exposure job categories" stands at 9.52%, which is twice the level of "low-AI-exposure job categories." Woowa Brothers, an IT platform company without a manufacturing base, boasted popularity by rising to 6th place overall in job seeker preferences in 2022, but plummeted to 49th place in 2025, just three years later. On the other hand, Kia leaped from 31st place in 2022 to 2nd place. Preferences are clearly shifting toward major manufacturing-based corporations and public enterprises.
