Balance beam prospect Hwang Seo-hyun (Incheon High School of Physical Education) took first place among eight competitors in the women's balance beam final at the Rainbow Hall of the Nagoya City Gymnasium in Japan, posting a total score of 14.700 points with a difficulty score of 6.600 and an execution score of 8.100.

Hwang won the gold medal in the women's balance beam at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.

China's Qiu Qiyuan claimed the silver medal with 14.566 points, while Japan's Mana Okamura took the bronze with 14.300 points.

Born in 2009, Hwang secured consecutive victories in the balance beam event at the Asian Championships in Jecheon and the National Sports Festival last year.

She later earned her spot at her first-ever Asian Games through ranking points in the event-specific trials held last May.
