A fire, presumed to be arson, broke out at a villa in Deokgye-dong, Yangju, Gyeonggi Province, on the afternoon of September 25, leaving one resident dead and six others, including police officers and firefighters, injured.

According to the police and fire authorities, a report was filed stating, "A resident who appears to be drunk is spreading gasoline," at a villa located in Deokgye-dong, Yangju.

While police officers were dispatched and attempting to check the relevant household on the third floor, an explosion suddenly occurred along with flames that spread throughout the entire building.

After 119 firefighters brought the flames under control in about 50 minutes and inspected the interior, a resident in his 60s, identified as Mr. A, was found burned to death inside the home.

Due to the sudden explosion and fire, a total of six people—four police officers, one firefighter, and one resident—were injured, though their injuries are reportedly not severe.
