Song Sung-mun of the San Diego Padres stepped up as a pinch-runner and successfully scored a run.

Song recorded no hits in one at-bat and scored one run in an away game against the Los Angeles Dodgers in Major League Baseball (MLB) held at Dodger Stadium today (the 25th).

Starting the game on the bench, Song entered as a pinch-runner for first base runner Austin Hays with one out and runners on first and second in the top of the 7th inning, with San Diego leading 2-0.

Song raced home to score during Fernando Tatis's single to right field with two outs.

At the plate, he fell short of expectations.

Taking over second base defense from the bottom of the 7th inning, Song was struck out by Dodgers closer Edwin Diaz in the top of the 9th.

Defeating the Dodgers 4-2, the San Diego Padres improved to 89 wins and 70 losses with a winning percentage of 0.560, securing their advance to the postseason for the third consecutive year.

Kim Ha-seong of the Atlanta Braves did not play in the home game against the Cincinnati Reds.

Atlanta, which has already clinched the National League (NL) East division title, lost 6-7.
